Hello Reddit,I'm considering switching from a costly, grandfathered BCBSIL PPO health insurance plan to a potentially more affordable option on the Health Care Exchange, possibly an Aetna PPO. My primary concern is maintaining access to a wide provider network at major Chicago hospitals due to my having multiple health problems .

I am a new agent to both the life and health field. Does anyone know if it is compliant to knock on someone's door to talk about final expense, and then give them a business card that says you sell Final expense, Medicare advantage, Medicare supplement, and Rx drug plans? my card simply lists that those are some of the products I sell. It does not list any of the carriers I sell for.

Federal spending on bonus payments to insurance companies that offer Medicare Advantage plans will reach at least $12.8 billion in 2023, according to a new KFF analysis. That is a nearly 30% increase from 2022, and more than quadruple the spending in 2015. The data come from one of three analyses released Aug. 9 by KFF that examine various facets of the Medicare Advantage program, which provides health insurance coverage to nearly 31 million Americans.

Total U.S. retail life insurance new annualized premium fell 7% in the first quarter 2023 to $3.75 billion, yet the number of policies sold increased 4% from the prior year, according to results from LIMRA’s first quarter 2023 U.S. Retail Individual Life Insurance Sales Survey. This represents the highest policy sales growth since the second quarter 2021, during the height of the pandemic sales surge.

The first and only life insurer entirely denominated in a cryptocurrency launched this week in Bermuda thanks to roughly $19 million in funding from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Google-Backed Gradient Ventures. Called “Meanwhile,” the firm is licensed and regulated as a life insurance company by the Bermuda Monetary Authority, a leading global insurance regulator, and is working to hire to its initial team and launch its first product: Bitcoin (BTC)-denominated whole life insurance.
