Hello Reddit,I'm considering switching from a costly, grandfathered BCBSIL PPO health insurance plan to a potentially more affordable option on the Health Care Exchange, possibly an Aetna PPO. My primary concern is maintaining access to a wide provider network at major Chicago hospitals due to my having multiple health problems .

I am a new agent to both the life and health field. Does anyone know if it is compliant to knock on someone's door to talk about final expense, and then give them a business card that says you sell Final expense, Medicare advantage, Medicare supplement, and Rx drug plans? my card simply lists that those are some of the products I sell. It does not list any of the carriers I sell for.

Federal spending on bonus payments to insurance companies that offer Medicare Advantage plans will reach at least $12.8 billion in 2023, according to a new KFF analysis. That is a nearly 30% increase from 2022, and more than quadruple the spending in 2015. The data come from one of three analyses released Aug. 9 by KFF that examine various facets of the Medicare Advantage program, which provides health insurance coverage to nearly 31 million Americans.

Total U.S. retail life insurance new annualized premium fell 7% in the first quarter 2023 to $3.75 billion, yet the number of policies sold increased 4% from the prior year, according to results from LIMRA’s first quarter 2023 U.S. Retail Individual Life Insurance Sales Survey. The first and only life insurer entirely denominated in a cryptocurrency launched this week in Bermuda thanks to roughly $19 million in funding from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Google-Backed Gradient Ventures. Called “Meanwhile,” the firm is licensed and regulated as a life insurance company by the Bermuda Monetary Authority, a leading global insurance regulator, and is working to hire to its initial team and launch its first product: Bitcoin (BTC)-denominated whole life insurance.
