International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED)
The International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) is a self-sufficient think tank focused on policy research. Its mission is to create a more equitable and sustainable world by leveraging evidence, taking action, and collaborating with various partners. Dr. Tom Mitchell serves as its director. IIED stands out as one of the few independent, non-profit organizations that have contributed essential ideas and strategies related to sustainability and social transformation. The institute primarily collaborates with similar organizations across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. IIED's initiatives are organized into four key areas: natural resources, climate change, human settlements, and sustainable markets.
