International Tennis Federation
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) serves as the main authority for tennis around the globe, including wheelchair and beach tennis. Established in 1913, originally named the International Lawn Tennis Federation, it was created by twelve national tennis organizations. As of 2016, the ITF consists of 211 national associations and six regional bodies. The ITF is responsible for overseeing the rules of tennis, managing international team competitions, promoting the sport, and ensuring its integrity through anti-doping and anti-corruption initiatives. To help govern professional tennis, the ITF collaborates with the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).
