Invisible People
There is a strong link between public perceptions of homelessness and the impact on policy changes. Often, people tend to blame those experiencing homelessness rather than acknowledging the underlying issues such as the lack of affordable housing, job opportunities, fair wages, and various other factors that can lead someone to become homeless. This misunderstanding perpetuates a harmful cycle that prevents us from tackling the true causes of homelessness. We envision a world where everyone has a safe and secure home. Every day, we strive to combat homelessness by putting a face to the issue and educating the public about the systemic problems that contribute to it. Through storytelling, informative content, news coverage, and activism, we are reshaping the conversation surrounding homelessness. This effort is not just talk. Our innovative educational materials reach over a billion people worldwide each year. The authentic and raw stories we share about homelessness break down stereotypes, draw attention, and inspire a call-to-action that is being embraced by governments, major companies, nonprofit groups, and everyday individuals like you. Yet, there is still much work to be done. Homelessness remains one of the most pressing social challenges we face today, and its impact will only increase if we don’t take steps to address it now. Action is needed today. We encourage you to watch our stories, share them, and educate yourself about homelessness. Stay informed with the latest news on this issue, and take steps to support your community. One person’s efforts can make a significant difference. Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to raising awareness about homelessness through creative storytelling, news reporting, and advocacy. Since our inception in 2008, we have become a leader and trusted source for inspiring action and fostering discussions around poverty in North America and the United Kingdom.

Despite the Supreme Court Ruling, Cities Trying to Criminalize Homelessness Are Facing Legal RoadblocksMere months after the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Grants Pass case, lower courts are pushing back against the decision. While that may be quite speedy in the legal world, in the real world, those intervening months have been full of suffering for many unhoused people living under leaders who saw the Grants Pass decision as a green light to go ahead and sweep people with absolute impunity.

Education Shouldn’t Depend on Housing. Idaho’s Program Sets a New Standard for Equity in Higher EdI became homeless while I was in college, and one of my biggest regrets is missing out on the “typical” college experience. I never joined clubs or participated in campus events—not because I wasn’t interested, but because I couldn’t afford the time. Every morning, I worked to make ends meet before heading to evening classes, leaving little room for anything else.
