    JASPER – Amid a continuing need following the 2024 wildfire, the Jasper Food Bank is not planning to take a break this summer. Blaine Wylde, operations manager at the Jasper Food Bank, noted that many residents depended on summer income. “Without having that last year, that set them back quite a bit, and we just see that there’s still quite a bit of need right now as people are still trying to get back their savings and whatnot,” Wylde said.

    LAKE LOUISE – Ground has been broken on Lake Louise Ski Resort’s 200-acre expansion that will include a new ski chairlift and terrain. Clearing has begun at Richardson’s Ridge, located at the backside of the Banff National Park ski resort along Pika run, which will have four named runs and two to three gladed side country trails, with a wide natural area on the top.     HINTON – The Hinton RCMP detachment is asking the Town to unfreeze one position to focus on traffic enforcement and education. Staff Sgt. Shiloh Fragomeni, detachment commander of the Hinton RCMP, told council on Tuesday (May 27) there was no contract for photo enforcement, and Hinton Municipal Enforcement has one officer out of two currently staffed.
