Galaxy Quest is SO good. It’s so underrated. And Missi Pyle is just too cute. When I had the chance to meet her at a convention, I knew I wanted to jump at it. I decided to draw her as her alien character Laliari in Galaxy Quest, embracing Tony Shalhoub’s Fred. haha. So great.

In anticipation of meeting E.T.’s Henry Thomas at a convention, I decided to draw E.T. and Elliott for Henry to sign for us. Growing up, it was my one aunt’s faaaavorite movie. So much so, she always had a bowl of Reese’s Pieces out on the counter at her annual picnic. (Yum!) So I made sure to bring a print of this to have Henry sign for her – and then I surprised her with it.

I haven’t seen a single episode of Game of Thrones, but I wanted to draw Emilia Clarke — probably after seeing her inĀ Solo. But also to expand my drawing subjects. I drew this one freehand with graphite pencils. Link to purchase prints of the drawing: https://johndibiaseart.com/emilia-clarke-drawing-print-85-x-11

At the same convention I failed to meet Terry Farrell at, Jane Banks’ Karen Dotrice was in attendance. My wife is a HUGE Mary Poppins fan, so I drew this for her in anticipation of meeting Karen – who was a delight. Karen playfully refused to believe I drew this, which was cute. I drew this freehand using colored pencils. Fun fact: I left part of the curtain area un-drawn so there was room for Karen to sign it.

Scarlett Johansson is one of the most popular subjects I’ve been commissioned to draw… and I have no complaints. This is one of the freehand graphite pieces I was commissioned to do.
