KAJN Radio started its journey in 1977 and is run by Agape Broadcasters Inc. The station's headquarters are located in Crowley, Louisiana, and its signal is transmitted from the TV 3 Tall Tower in Kaplan. With an antenna height of 1,600 feet, KAJN reaches close to 2 million listeners across the Lake Charles, Alexandria, Lafayette, and Baton Rouge areas. Over the years, KAJN has established itself as one of the top Christian radio stations in the United States, as reflected in various surveys. Since its inception, KAJN FM has dedicated itself solely to Christian music and programming. What sets the station apart is its unique format, which combines teaching programs during part of the day with music for the rest, unlike many other stations that tend to focus exclusively on one or the other. The musical style has evolved over the years, transitioning from the country gospel sounds of early artists like Teddy Huffam and the Gems, and the Hinsons, to more contemporary groups like Avalon and Four Him in recent times. "Our mission is to share the gospel," says President and General Manager Barry Thompson. "While we are not a church and don't claim to be, we support the church in its mission. The stories of transformation are countless, from lives changed to marriages healed and thousands of prayers answered."
