“Mom. Mommy. Mum. MAHM!” These calls fill my day, and honestly, I wouldn’t trade them for anything. Yet, every time I hear my name shouted, I can’t help but give that classic “mom look.” Inside, my heart beams, even if my expression might say otherwise. I bet many of you can relate! I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but if you ask me about my second home, I’ll tell you about Athens, Ohio. That’s where I attended Ohio University (OU OH YEAH!) and met my amazing husband, Kevin. Our story began when I worked in the sports department and he played on the football team. My journalism career then took me across West Virginia, New York, and North Carolina. Eventually, I returned to my hometown where Kevin and I settled down and started our family. Now, we are raising our two little girls in Pittsburgh. After spending seven years in the news industry, I decided to leave just before my second daughter was born. I wanted to focus on being with my kids while they were still young. I have no regrets about stepping away from my career for my family, but as life evolved, so did my priorities, and I found myself searching for a new identity. That's when I discovered the need for a creative outlet, which inspired me to start this blog.
