However, a dedicated group of bikers is on a mission to help young victims find their strength and courage, transforming them from victims into victors. In a touching display of support, members of the Guardians of the Children’s Belle City Biker Group planted blue pinwheels in Kenosha to raise awareness about the staggering statistics surrounding child abuse.

    KENOSHA — For some children in Kenosha, a bed is something they have never called their own. That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in, as they build beds for families in need. Erin Ginn, fundraising manager, spoke with our TMJ4 team at our Let’s Talk Kenosha event. There she shared their mission to give kids a better night’s sleep. “Everything that we do actually goes back into our community,” Ginn said.

    On Aug. 27, 2023, Deputy Christopher Bischoff and Kelsey Schwuchow were spending their day off with their families near Lake Michigan when they spotted two children struggling in the water. The children’s mother attempted to rescue them but couldn’t reach them. After seeing the struggle, the deputies jumped in, swimming 60 yards to the family in an effort to bring them safely to shore. Now, they have been honored with an award that recognizes their bravery on a national level.

Jaxson Thomas is only 12 years old, but he wants to make this holiday season special for kids in need. “A smile can do a whole lot,” Jaxson said.     KENOSHA — Wednesday was National Coffee with a Cop Day and Kenosha police officers stopped by 7 Brew Coffee as they hope to build relationships with the community. Kenosha police officers Jonathan Guadarrama and Josh Goldberg, engaged with customers while they waited and delivered their orders. As they served up coffee, they asked customers how they were doing and answered questions about policing. “It was a very fun day,” Officer Guadarrama said.
