KHET-TV (Honolulu, HI)

PBS Hawai‘i is the only television station in the state that is locally owned, providing service to the Islands since 1965. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization, we are dedicated to serving our community. We are proud to be the exclusive member from Hawai‘i of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and the only licensed educational broadcaster in the state. Understanding our community is essential to our mission. We create local content and foster engagement that resonates with our values of mind, heart, and na‘au (gut). While we embrace various technologies, we prioritize maintaining a personal connection in all our endeavors. Our operations are primarily funded by the community, through donations from individuals, families, businesses, and charitable foundations. Additionally, we receive about fifteen percent of our budget from the federal government, via the nonprofit Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
