Sections of two streets on Pullman’s College Hill be closed for the next two months for repaving. The City of Pullman has hired the local company Motley-Motley Inc. to repave portions of Orchard Drive and Valley Road. The work starts on Monday. Orchard will be closed to thru traffic between Stadium Way and Valley Road. Valley will be closed from Orchard to Cove Way. Local traffic will be allowed access in the work zone. Detours will be in place. The repaving is set to end by August 15th.

There is a meet the candidates gathering in downtown Pullman on Thursday night to help voters prepare for the busy upcoming local primary election. There are 27 candidates in primary runoffs for Pullman City Council, Pullman School Board and Whitman County Commissioner. Each Thursday night in June and July the Whitman County Democrats are hosting the non-partisan candidate meet and greets which is open to everyone. The gatherings are Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 at Pups & Cups Café.

The last Appy Festival at the Appaloosa Museum & Heritage Center in Moscow is Thursday. The event is from 4:00 to 7:00 at the museum on Pullman Road at the state line. Attendees will get to meet the Appaloosa horses, enjoy live music, food and drinks. Museum officials have announced that they have sold the building and they need to move out by the end of the month.
