A unique, immersive theater and dance production at Point Park University combines STEM and art, focusing on the elements of fire, air, water and Earth - and it's probably unlike any performance you've ever attended. "Ascend" is a family-friendly production choreographed and directed by Keisha Lalama, managing and artistic director of the Pittsburgh Playhouse at Point Park. She says she wanted the show to feel youthful, which is why her sons -who are in their 20's - helped write it.

Earlier this year, a new resource for parents opened in Wexford: Beanstalk HQ is a daycare center, co-working space and coffee shop where parents can get remote work done, meet up with friends or just take a break while their kids are playing. Beanstalk HQ, which opened in February, offers a cheerful play space staffed with adults who can lead kids through creative projects (including themed craft projects each month) or free play.

President Trump's executive order on education this week seeks to advance AI education, starting with the youngest students. The goal is to maintain America's dominance in AI, and Pittsburgh schools are already at the forefront. The Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) started work on artificial intelligence in education in 2017. They helped create national tools for districts to thoughtfully implement AI for teachers and students.
