Columbus Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night at the Walmart on east 23rd Street. In a Facebook post police say the incident happened around 6:20 p.m. One man was taken to Columbus Community Hospital and another man was taken into custody without incident. The condition of the injured man is not known and police are still trying to determine what led to the shooting. Police say there is no threat to the public.

A homeowner near 35th and ‘O’ Street got a rude awakening early Thursday morning. Lincoln Police say an SUV crashed through a fence just south of 35th and ‘O’ Street around 3:00 a.m.The car then went through the backyard and drove completely through the garage before it came to a stop. There were no injuries reported and Lincoln Police are still sorting out the details.
NSP Arrests Three Inmates for Attempted Murder

Nebraska State Patrol investigators have arrested three inmates for their roles in an assault on several Nebraska Department of Correctional Services staff two years ago. A patrol spokesperson says on Tuesday investigators arrested 33-year-old Eric Ramirez, 39-year-old John Meyers and 23-year-old Jonathan Gonzalez SalasAll three are currently inmates at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.
Two Grenades Found in South Lincoln Neighborhood

The LFR Hazardous Device Unit was called out twice on Monday after a pair of hand grenades were found in the same south Lincoln neighborhood. LFR’s MJ Lierman says the first one, a Korean War grenade, was found on the sidewalk in front of a home near 35th and Lake around 10:00 a.m.The team safely removed it from the area and Lierman says the grenade was determine to be inert and there were no explosive components in it.

City officials and event organizers gathered Monday afternoon to outline traffic safety protocols and street closures for May 3 and 4 for the Lincoln Mayor’s Run, Marathon, and Half Marathon. About 2,000 elementary age students will run in the Mayor’s Run and more than 7,000 runners will participate in either the Marathon or Half Marathon. The Mayor’s Run will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday on the south side of the state Capitol.

Man Seriously Injured in Early Saturday Morning Stabbing

Lincoln Police are searching for suspects following an early morning stabbing in west Lincoln. Officers were called to 1st and ‘M’ Street around 2:30 a.m. and found a 39-year-old Lincoln man with stab wounds to the leg and arm. The victim was receiving medical care from Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews when they arrived. LPD says the victim was transported to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He was reported to be in stable condition.

Lincoln Police have arrested a 24-year-old woman who they say punched and kicked a man who was involved in a fight near 12th and ‘E’ Street last Wednesday night. LPD took Sarah Mangloack into custody Monday night and she was booked for first degree assault. Lincoln Police were sent to that location to investigate an assault. Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says when officers arrived found two men lying in the street bleeding.

A traffic stop leads to the discovery of $976,000 worth of fentanyl pills. LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday members of the Lincoln LancasterCounty Narcotics Task Force and LSO Interdiction Unit stopped a Chevy Equinox as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. Investigators conducted a traffic stop along I-80 near 48th Street after the vehicle committed a number of traffic violations.
