The Vegas Golden Knights snapped a three-game losing streak with their backs against the walls in an elimination Game 6, and after shutting the Dallas Stars out 2-0, they look to move on to the second round with a win on the road in Game 7. Vegas got off to a great start in their series against the top team in the Western Conference by stealing the first two games on the road, but they proceeded to drop two games on home ice and an additional game at American Airlines Arena in Dallas.

The Vegas Golden Knights fell 3-2 to the Dallas Stars in Game 5 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, and the reigning Stanley Cup Champs will now face elimination in Friday’s Game 6 to be played at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas dropped a pivotal Game 4 on home ice to head back on the road to face the Stars, and the general thought was that the team needed to be a bit more aggressive, it needed to get going earlier, and just outwork Dallas in general.

The Vegas Golden Knights stole Game 1 and Game 2 on the road in Dallas against the Stars to take a commanding 2-0 series lead, but after failing to defend home ice they will now head back to Dallas in a 2-2 series following a 4-2 loss in Game 4. The Golden Knights nearly stole Game 3 on the heels of an amazing performance by Logan Thompson, and to their credit, they showed much more of a fight and effort in Game 4 despite ultimately losing.

The Vegas Golden Knights were outshot, outchanced, and outworked in Game 3’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars, and they almost emerged victorious due to some exceptional play between the pipes from Logan Thompson. Thompson stopped 43 of 46 in the loss, allowing just 3 goals to the 6.60 expected goals the Stars generated per Evolving-Hockey.com.

The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Dallas Stars 3-1 on Wednesday, and as a result they have stolen home ice ahead of the series shifting to T-Mobile Arena for Games 3 and 4. The defending Stanley Cup champions played clinical hockey, especially in the 3rd period, and they did not allow Dallas to register a shot on goal during the final 5:38 of the game. Dallas was limited to just one goal, a power-play tally by Jason Robertson in the 1st period, but it was all Vegas the remainder of the way.
