KNON

KNON is a community radio station that operates as a non-profit and relies on support from its listeners. Its primary funding comes from on-air fundraising events and sponsorships from local small businesses. The station began broadcasting on July 30, 1983, initially operating at 10,000 watts. In March 1990, KNON increased its power to 55,000 watts. This boost in power allows its signal to reach a radius of about 60 miles from Cedar Hill, extending to areas including McKinney, Hillsboro, Corsicana, and from Fort Worth to Greenville.
