    A Wildfire Smoke Advisory is in effect through 5 p-m Monday Sept 30th 2024 for the San Gorgonio Pass, and Western Coachella Valley The Line Fire has pockets of unburned fuels that are burning within containment lines in the Bear Creek and Sana Ana River drainages, producing smoke on Sunday Sept 29th 2024. The fire remains 83% contained. There is more fuel in Bear Creek and Santa Ana River drainages that will burn creating smoke over the next few days.

    California is one step away from cracking down on cell phones in class. Legislators in Sacramento have passed a bill  that requires school districts limit when students can use their phones on campus or ban phones altogether. School districts would be given until July 2025 to put policies in place and must update those policies every five years. Governor Gavin Newsom is expected to sign the bill.
