Furnishings and fixtures in rental properties are wearing out 30% faster than before the pandemic, according to an assessment from industry sources. A study of data and reports from the Independent Landlord, the National Residential Landlords Association, the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and Total Landlord Insurance suggests that before the pandemic just 26.7% of people said they had worked from home at any time over the previous 12 months.

Buy-to-let properties are generating the highest average rental yields since February 2011, new Paragon Bank figures have revealed. Analysis of Paragon Bank lending data has revealed that average rental yields of 7.11% were achieved by landlords in April 2025. This is the highest level since February 2011, when the figure was just one basis point higher at 7.12%.

Rightmove is launching the next phase of its brand advertising campaign, called If They Can Find It So Can You. The multi-channel campaign will appear in prime-time TV slots, and across digital, social, and outdoor advertising, to help drive people to agents’ brands and properties on Rightmove. The portal says ‘If they can find it, so can you’ communicates that, with the UK’s largest choice of homes, everyone can find a home that fits their unique requirements.

Propertymark is urging landlords and property professionals to complete an industry-wide survey from the High Court Enforcement Officers Association to better understand current issues within the sector. The survey has been designed to gather information and sentiment to help improve and progress understanding as to when High Court action might be an appropriate route to consider, and what services should be implemented in the future.
