It’s amazing the number of tropes that pop up in horror movies repeatedly, and twins are a staple of the horror genre. When they’re the bad guys, the filmmakers tend to focus on the creepier side of twins. But when they’re the good guys, twins are used to convey a deep bond between characters, which sometimes borders on the more supernatural side of things. But no matter what side they’re on, I love to see twins pop up in horror, so here are ten of my favourite movies featuring twins.

Even though vampires are immortal, there are many things out there that can hurt and even kill them. Depending on the mythology a vampire’s creator has ascribed to, items including garlic, silver, a stake to the heart, crosses, holy water, and sacred ground can all injure a vampire. One thing that almost always proves deadly to vampires is the sun (unless you’re really powerful like Dracula or glittery like Edward Cullen) and fire.

Horror is forever inventing new and brutal ways to kill its characters, so when it comes to burning people to death, there are far more inventive murder weapons than just fire. Characters can be charred, boiled, burned, and scalded by things like boiling water, steam, extreme sunlight, or even microwaves to ensure movies have the most creative kill count possible. With so many amazing heat deaths to choose from, here are my top 10 hotter-than-hot deaths in horror.

Halloween (1978) is one of my favourite horror movies. And considering the series started in 1978, it’s impressive that we’re still getting sequels as recently as 2022. We’ve had timeline rewrites, deaths reversed, and Laurie Strode brought back into the series as many times as Michael himself — anything to keep the legacy of one of our favourite horror slashers alive. There’s no denying the many sequels vary in quality to some degree.
