The amendment allows Madison residents to own one pig as long as it’s under 24 inches tall, weighs less than 300 pounds, and is up to date with all required shots. City Council has the final say and it’s on the docket for next week.

Gooooood morning, Madison!Here’s a little throwback to kick off your Thursday. Apparently, Monday’s dock collapse at Memorial Union wasn’t the first time such an event happened at the Terrace. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, in October 2005, the pier buckled during the Giant Pumpkin Regatta, sending roughly 20 people into Lake Mendota. Thankfully, no one was hurt and the pumpkin pilots continued on their course.

The Madison Fire Department estimates there were between 60-80 people on the pier when it buckled.
