Manawatu People's Radio

The Manawatu Access Radio Charitable Trust, known as Manawatu People's Radio, is a lively, community-driven, non-profit radio station. Since its inception in 1997, we have provided a media outlet for various local groups and individuals who may not have the chance to share their voices on the radio. We also promote local music both on-air and within the community throughout the year. At MPR, we don’t create radio shows ourselves. Instead, we empower community members by offering the tools, training, and support they need to produce their own content that showcases their perspectives and values. If you choose to take advantage of this opportunity, you'll gain skills in preparing your own show that can be recorded in our studios, broadcast live from different locations, or created from the comfort of your home. You'll also learn how to use the equipment necessary for live broadcasting.
