Manchester chef Ben Humphreys is all set to bring Bangkok-style dining to the Edinburgh Castle – taking on the kitchen with his wife Bo.Called Bangkok Diners Club, it will open up next week mixing the Thai flavours he championed at his previous project – the Michelin Guide-listed District on Oldham Street – with US BBQ methods. The menu will feature elements from both central Thailand and the Isan region in the north, where Bo is from, as well as throwing in an in-house smoker.

Skof, the restaurant helmed by chef Tom Barnes, has been awarded a Michelin star, less than a year after opening in Manchester. Barnes accepted the star in this year’s Michelin ceremony at the Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow. It’s only the second star to arrive in Manchester, with the other being Simon Martin’s mana in Ancoats, who also retained his star for the sixth year, since winning one in 2019. Prior to that, Manchester had not held a star since 1977.
Huge new food hall House of Social set to open in summer 2025

A huge new food hall spread across a 12,000 square feet site close to HOME, First Street and Deansgate Locks is set to open in the summer. Called House of Social, it will boast five kitchens over two levels, constructed by Vita Group beneath a new complex of student accommodation.
