Matlock Mercury

The Matlock Mercury is a weekly publication that comes out every Thursday in the UK, catering to the communities of Matlock, Darley Dale, Wirksworth, Bakewell, and nearby villages in the Derbyshire Dales region. This newspaper originated in the late 1940s as "Coming Events," an entertainment guide created by Ella Smith from her home on Bakewell Road in Matlock. This location served as the newspaper's base until October 2000, when it moved to a new office on Firs Parade in the heart of the town.
