    Joann, which coined the slogan “Handmade Happiness,” with stores stocked with fabrics and yarn, will cease to exist after this week. Roughly 600 of the ill-fated chain’s 800 stores are shuttering for good, and it started Tuesday, May 27, in locations such as Deptford Plaza in Deptford. About 200 other Joann stores had already shut down operations last month after the retailer declared bankruptcy in January 2025 for the second time.

It’s only fitting that the newly rebuilt, outdoor recreational hockey rink that debuted at DeCou Park in Cherry Hill on Sunday is named after the late Cherry Hill High School East student. Members of Ravi’s family, including his parents and brothers, and former sports teammates and friends, were among the nearly 200 present on Sunday for the dedication ribbon cutting and pick-up hockey game at the new rink.

    More than 100 area law enforcement officers gathered in Cherry Hill on Friday to kick off the first leg of the Police Unity Tour and also honor one of their own. Under the early morning sky of May 9 the officers on bikes paid tribute with a carnation drop for fallen Cherry Hill Police Officer Louis S. Duffy, who was killed in a motor vehicle accident while responding to a call for service in1947.
