In 2007, Veronica Villafañe established Media Moves after recognizing that Latino journalists and Hispanic media were often underrepresented in industry publications. Her goal was to transform the narrative around Latinos in the media, aiming to "turn footnotes into headlines" and highlight the achievements of these professionals, challenging the belief that there aren’t enough qualified individuals in the field. Media Moves focuses on the career advancements and successes of Latinos within the media landscape, as well as providing news related to the industry. Since its launch, Media Moves has become a well-respected news source, frequently cited by various publications, and serves as a vital online resource that often features exclusive stories and insights about networks like Univision and Telemundo.

    Mario Orellana has stepped down as news director at San Antonio’s KSAT to take on a position as recruiter at Graham Media Group, the station’s parent company. Orellana, who had been news director since January 2023, spent nearly 30 years at the ABC affiliate. He started at KSAT in 1996 as an unpaid intern before being hired as a sports producer.

    Gilberto Dorrego is joining Telemundo 49 Tampa as an investigative reporter. He will lead the station’s consumer investigative unit, “Telemundo 49 Responde” and contribute in-depth reports to “Noticiero Telemundo 49.”He is scheduled to make his on-air debut later this month. Dorrego arrives in Tampa after spending nearly a year at Telemundo Arizona as lead anchor and reporter. Following his departure from the station in February, Paola Morales and Ana Mafud took over as  newscast co-anchors.
