May went out with a bang in our family, perfectly capturing the ups-and-downs of life: Last Wednesday, my brother and SIL went in for an ultrasound to check on their baby (who was one week overdue) and found out AT WEEK 41 that she was unexpectedly breech (WHAT!?!?!). On Thursday, they went to the hospital in the morning for an external version—which didn’t work—and were taken right in for a c-section.

But this month, as I went to categorize my simple joys by sensory experience as I’ve always done, I felt constrained.
