Musical Opinion

Musical Opinion, commonly referred to as MO, is a classical music magazine based in the UK, serving the European audience. Established in 1877, it holds the distinction of being one of the longest-running music journals still in circulation in the UK. In its inaugural year, Musical Opinion provided critical insights on Brahms’ Second Symphony and later reviewed his Violin Concerto in 1879. The October 1936 edition featured an interview with Rachmaninov and praised the emerging talent of William Walton, highlighting him as one of Britain’s most promising young composers.
