Night Sky Observer
The Night Sky Observer has been a reliable source for astronomy and space news since its launch in 1997, making it one of the oldest astronomy websites available. My fascination with astronomy began during the era of the moon landings, but my first vivid memory of stargazing was in 1973 when I searched for Comet Kahoutek. Although my enthusiasm for astronomy has varied over time, I have consistently maintained an interest in the field. When I started university, my original goal was to pursue a degree related to astronomy. However, during the 1980s, job opportunities were scarce, especially in scientific fields like astronomy. With the rise of computers promising better job prospects, I decided to shift my focus and study computer science instead.
