NM Political Report

We believe that an informed and active citizenry is essential for good governance. The New Mexico Political Report is a non-profit news organization dedicated to enhancing the public's understanding of politics and policies within New Mexico. Our investigative and enterprise articles delve deeper than typical press releases and soundbites, addressing issues that resonate with our communities, as narrated by those directly affected by the political landscape. Whenever possible, we strive to amplify voices that reflect New Mexico's diverse population, including those often overlooked by mainstream media. Launched in January 2015, the NM Political Report is an online news source that focuses on political developments, thorough analysis of important issues, and the perspectives of insightful individuals like you. Our news team, comprising experienced journalists Matthew Reichbach, Andrew Lyman, and Laura Paskus, leads this independent, non-profit initiative funded by the ProgressNow NM Education Fund (which does not influence our editorial choices). We also welcome contributions from other reporters and readers through our quick reads and community voices sections. In today's digital era, the NM Political Report is designed to deliver timely news as events unfold. Our innovative platform enables us to publish stories in real-time and allows readers to engage with the content in their preferred online formats. With Facebook and Twitter integrations, readers can comment live, often engaging directly with decision-makers and the journalists reporting on those issues. As traditional news outlets reduce their staff, the complexities of government and societal issues continue to rise, leading to a decrease in coverage of the matters that affect New Mexicans the most. We are addressing this gap by assembling some of the state's leading political reporters to explore how politics influences everyday life for New Mexicans.
