NRU Publishing

NRU Publishing Inc. is a small publishing firm located in Toronto, which was founded in 1997. The company's original goal was to stay well-informed about the news, people, activities, and services related to municipal government and urban planning in the newly merged City of Toronto. In June 1997, NRU launched its first weekly newsletter, Novae Res Urbis (pronounced nov-eye rays er-bis), a name that translates from Latin to "News of the City." This newsletter was created with the belief that the amalgamation would bring not only changes but also confusion. Its purpose was to deliver timely updates on the new city structure and its ongoing activities, particularly in planning and development. Over time, it became clear that the need for Novae Res Urbis to bridge the information gap regarding the complexities of Toronto City Hall was growing significantly. In addition to the Toronto edition, NRU also publishes a weekly newsletter focused on urban planning and municipal issues for the Greater Toronto Area.
