O Diário do Norte do Paraná

O Diário do Norte do Paraná

O Diário do Norte do Paraná Daily is a standard-format newspaper located in Maringa, Paraná. It was launched on June 29, 1974, and originally had branches in Arapongas, Umuarama, and Cianorte. The newspaper's journey began with the acquisition of the first offset printing press in northern Paraná. Joaquim Dutra, Samuel Silveira, and Carlos Piovezan Son came together to create the Northern Paraná Diary, which was initially based at Tuiuti Avenue, 138. The early office was situated in an old shed that had previously been a soap factory, leading to its unique distinction as "the only newspaper in the world with a chimney," a claim made by one of its first reporters, Wilson Serra. Rubens Avila served as the first editor-in-chief, followed by Serra himself.
