Oakland Tribune

The Oakland Tribune was a daily newspaper based in Oakland, California, operated by the Bay Area News Group (BANG), which is part of MediaNews Group. Between 2010 and 2016, it was printed as a section of the main BANG paper, the San Jose Mercury News. In March 2016, Digital First Media, the parent company, announced that the Oakland Tribune would merge into a new publication called the East Bay Times, along with other local newspapers in the East Bay, starting April 5, 2016. The previous newspaper titles will still be published every Friday as weekly community editions.
