Ocean Grove Voice

Ocean Grove is an emerging coastal community located on the Bellarine Peninsula in southern Victoria, Australia. It is surrounded by the waves of the Southern Ocean, the Barwon River, and lush native bushland. Approximately 12,000 people live here permanently. This area was first home to the Bengalat clan of the Wathaurong Tribe, and European settlers arrived in the early 1800s, initially naming the town Newington.

The Grovers won the Saturday Premier and Division 1 Midweek competitions and fared brilliantly at the State Championships in Bendio earlier this month. Cromie defeated Moonee Valley’s Nathan Lynch 25 to 17 in the final and said his form was a little “scratchy” in the early rounds.

The Cobras’ score of 7/559 was the highest ever team total in A Grade, easily surpassing Barrabool’s 6/423 in 2015-16. The partnership was the highest ever for the fifth wicketWalter made 210 from 282 deliveries while 17-year-old Wingrave smacked 208 from 146, which included 22 fours and 11 sixes.

Newtown & Chilwell’s Taliesin Platt and Bell Park’s Alisha Aldridge will go into this Sunday’s semi-final full of confidence. Aldridge made a superb 101 not out from 108 deliveries as the Dragons piled on the runs against Lara in the final home and away round.
