Oceanography Magazine

Launched in July 1988, Oceanography serves as the official magazine of The Oceanography Society. This publication features peer-reviewed articles that explore various facets of ocean science and its practical applications. Additionally, Oceanography shares news, meeting summaries, hands-on lab activities, career highlights, book critiques, and shorter editor-reviewed pieces that discuss the intersection of science, technology, public policy, and education. We welcome submissions for the Breaking Waves section, which highlights innovative solutions to multidisciplinary challenges within ocean science. The magazine also includes special issue sections dedicated to significant ocean science programs or themes, with details on how to propose a special issue available here. Articles for these sections are curated by guest editors. Oceanography is released quarterly in March, June, September, and December, and is available in both online and print formats.
