Okanogan Valley Gazette-Tribune

The Okanogan Valley Gazette-Tribune traces its roots back to 1905 when it was first known as the Oroville Weekly Gazette. Back then, the price was just 2 cents per issue or $1 for an annual subscription. Nowadays, the Gazette-Tribune serves the communities of Oroville and Tonasket, as well as the surrounding unincorporated regions of North County. Oroville is a border town that acts as the main U.S. entry point from southern British Columbia, featuring the only 24-hour Port of Entry in Eastern Washington. The town shares the scenic Lake Osoyoos with Osoyoos, B.C., attracting tourists and shoppers from both sides of the border. Oroville and Tonasket are also key agricultural hubs, surrounded by orchards of apples, pears, and cherries. The North County area is home to numerous active cattle ranches, visible as you travel through the picturesque Okanogan Highlands. This region includes charming, unincorporated towns such as Loomis, Chesaw, Molson, and Wauconda.
