PITTSBURGH - The Phillies are usually very timely with putting their lineup out for that day's game. It's often posted the minute the clubhouse opens to the media pregame and many times leads to questions from the media once manager Rob Thomson is made available. On Friday, at PNC Park, it was delayed. The general assumption was the Phillies were waiting to see if J.T. Realmuto, who took a foul ball to the nether regions on Wednesday night, was good enough to go. Well, Realmuto is in the lineup.

Reporting from Toronto, Phillies Nation's Destiny Lugardo passed along the latest update on Nola's status, which would seem to indicate it will be some time before the former All-Star returns to the rotation: Aaron Nola was scheduled to throw live BP on Thursday. He’s shut down for now due to mild stiffness in his right side.

The Flyers have identified the players that they feel will be a part of their core going forward, and one of them, Noah Cates, is a lot wealthier now because of it. The team announced on Tuesday that Cates was signed to a 4-year, $16 million contract, ensuring the 26-year-old center remains a key component of the team through the 2028-29 season. An AAV of $4 million per season is a team-friendly number for Cates, who had a bounce back season in 2024-25.
