Directed by Alex Garland, and co-written/directed by veteran Ray Mendoza, Warfare is the real account of U.S. Navy SEALs who were embedded in a forward combat zone, to hold sniper positions.

By John KirkRating: CDespite the presence and performances of the likes of Mira Sorvino and John Cusack, Fog of War fails to deliver what it promises: a war-time mystery filled with suspense and intrigue. Given all that’s wrong with the film, what’s really disappointing is the overwhelming number of hints that spoil the mystery. The plot-signaling makes Fog of War a film that compels you to fast-forward button to the end just to see if your guess was right. (Spoiler alert: It was).

MARTIN-GREEN: Yes! I think one of the reasons why the film has an intoxicating effect is because you’ve got this dichotomy, a personification of guilt, shame and Survivor’s Remorse in Zoe – she’s not a ghost, she’s a manifestation. Completely a figment of Merit’s imagination. But that figment provides familiarity, comfort, fun and happiness because this is how she prefers to remember Zoe. At the same time, the dichotomy is that Zoe does her harm. She holds her back.

But, and this is widely known to any fan of the previous Kingpin series, Fisk has undergone a similar transformation. He was beaten by Daredevil. He had to come to terms with that and it seems he is trying to do that by becoming Mayor of New York. Through service to the city, and a departure from his criminal background, perhaps he can find that change. This is made known in the trailer.
