Metsä and Amcor to develop moulded fibre-based food pack solutions

Metsä Group and Amcor have announced a collaboration to develop three-dimensional moulded fibre packaging solutions with lidding and liner for a variety of food applications. Combining Metsä’s wood-based moulded fibre product, Muoto, developed by Metsä Spring, with Amcor’s high-barrier film liner and lidding tech, the partnership seeks to deliver fibre-based food packaging that protects perishable food products and extends shelf life.

SÜDPACK said that with this change of leadership, the film manufacturer is gaining an experienced executive with a ‘proven track record in managing and developing global business segments for various technology leaders’. Prosecutions made after discovery of fake best before dates on eggs

A number of prosecutions have been made after an investigation by the Animal and Plant Health Agency found a number of individuals and companies repacking eggs with fake best before dates. The prosecutions, which took place between January and March 2025, involved multiple offences under the Egg Marketing Regulations. This included the unlawful repacking of eggs with altered or extended best before dates and breaches of required labelling standards.
