Pasquines

Pasquines

Pasquines is a nonprofit news organization run entirely by volunteers, dedicated to bridging the gap between the United States and its territories. We believe that territories like Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands are often overlooked in national discussions about politics, policies, and innovation. Conversely, local conversations frequently overlook how federal issues affect life in these areas. Our mission is to elevate local topics to the national stage and ensure that national matters are also considered locally. In a time when journalism faces many challenges, we aim to create innovative news platforms that support aspiring students and journalists. We work to raise awareness about the realities and challenges faced by the territories and encourage the inclusion of their citizens in important conversations. With a strong commitment to dismantling the barriers between the nation and its territories, we strive to highlight the unique context of these islands.
