British Pest Register CPD Scheme gains traction

The recently launched British Pest Register CPD scheme has more than 300 members and is gaining traction. The CPD scheme is the brainchild of Sean Mooney, the owner of Kill Line Pest Control and Pest Software. “This is the first CRRU-approved CPD scheme for 2026; in order to buy professional use for rodenticides next year you have to have a qualification, but you also have to have collected 20 CPD points in 2025, and three of those have to be the CRRU-approved.

BASIS Classroom launches Textile Pests course

A new, free, online course, Textile Pests, is now available for PROMPT members on the BASIS Classroom. Corrina Urquhart, BASIS chief executive, said this course provides an in-depth introduction to common textile pests found in the UK, including the common clothes moth and the varied carpet beetle. Participants will also learn about effective monitoring and control methods to manage infestations. The course is 30 minutes long and will provide PROMPT members two CPD points upon completion.
