    The Pierce County Commission approved a donation of sand and gravel to the Pierce County Fair at its regular meeting Tuesday. Don Jelsing with the Pierce County Fair joined the meeting and informed the board he could use more gravel for pathways and moving around, ultimately for safety reasons. Jelsing also mentioned the fair still needed more sand to get the arena finished. Commissioner Joe Bohl said if they had three blademen, spreading out the gravel could be completed in one day.

Jon Nelson of Rugby will be recognized as the Rural Health Legislator of the Year at the 40th Annual Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health awards banquet on Wednesday, June 18. Nelson has served in the North Dakota Legislature since 1997, and is a standing member of the Appropriations Committee and chairman of the Appropriations-Human Resources Division.

The first ordinance would have the city adopt all of Title 39 of the North Dakota Century Code which relates to motor vehicles.
