PLSN is saddened to learn of the passing of Lighting Designer/Director Richard “Rich” Barrett/Quinn, who lost his battle with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) on March 9, 2025 in Houston, TX. He was a long time Lighting Designer with Deep South Productions, where he lit a lot of different acts, events, and projects. Born on June 6, 1966, Quinn was 58. In typical Rich Barrett fashion, he wrote his own obituary, which you can read below. It’s the rowdy encore that he would have wanted. Well, damn.
