Marco Rubio has just announced that the Trump regime will deny visas to any foreign nationals who criticize the state Israel. Elon Musk’s so-called “DOGE” policy cuts can now be tied to at least 300,000 deaths, and counting. The Supreme Court just criminalized 500,000 documented immigrants, because Trump asked them to. And MAGA Senator Joni Ernst mocked her constituents who shared their fear of dying due to the new GOP budget bill, then told them to accept Jesus.

As I reported on this week, on May 25, 2025, the Israeli military bombed the Fahmi al-Jarjawi School in Gaza City, a shelter for displaced families. At least 36 people were killed, including 18 children and six women—burned alive in the flames. Among the survivors was five-year-old Ward al-Sheikh Khalil, who escaped the flames that claimed her mother and five siblings.

I woke up to yet another gut-wrenching horror: Israeli airstrikes killed at least 52 people in Gaza Monday night—including 36 Palestinians who were taking refuge in a school-turned-shelter. Most of them were women and children. Killed while they slept, their belongings—and their bodies—incinerated in the night. This wasn’t a battlefield. This was a school. A shelter. A place people fled to escape death, only to be immolated by it. The Israeli military burned children alive while they slept.

In recent weeks, Donald Trump has faced a series of significant legal setbacks, and it’s important we celebrate these wins. These wins underscore that despite his attacks on the judiciary, the resilience of our judicial system is pulling through on critical matters. It also speaks to the power of civic activism and social push for accountability, especially as our most basic rights like free speech and due process are under attack. Likewise, the battle to protect our basic rights is far from over.

The Israeli government continues to escalate violence against anyone who stands in its way. This includes civilians, journalists, and now diplomats. According to The Guardian, Israeli troops opened fire—what they called “warning shots”—at a delegation of 25 diplomats visiting the occupied West Bank. Israel called it an “inconvenience” and that they’re “investigating,” which historically is code for no one will face accountability for this crime. Let’s be clear: this was not a rogue soldier.
