On Wednesday, May 28th, FX premieres its new ensemble comedy series Adults, about five twenty-something friends trying to make it – or at least get by – now that they’re out in the real world of Queens. To celebrate, Adults brought “Suds & Sounds” to Laundry Bee in Queens on Thursday, May 22nd (with a press preview the night before). During the day, attendees could do laundry – that most adult of activities – for free.

Some people dabble in blues on a flotilla of pat self-marketing stemming from a temporary sabulous streak, a slippery sprezzatura that amounts to little more than sonic grocery-store tourism. Some do it to play nursemaid to the algorithm, others because they are insufficiently anguished and bizarrely long to feel the weight of an emotional sinker they will never know how to cast, much less how to hold.
