The Quad Cities Business Journal is spearheaded by Editor Jennifer DeWitt, who has extensive experience with the Quad-City Times. Supporting her is Senior Reporter Kenda Burrows, a seasoned journalist and former editorial page editor and writer for the Moline Dispatch and Rock Island Argus. The team is also expanding with additional reporters and freelancers. QCBJ covers important topics related to the people, businesses, and challenges affecting the local business landscape. In addition to news articles, they produce various podcasts and newsletters regularly. The journal also organizes several networking and recognition events, including Forty Under 40, Mid-Year Economic Review, and 90 Ideas in 90 Minutes, among others. The QCBJ website and email newsletter were launched on December 1, 2021, with the inaugural print edition scheduled for release on January 24, 2022.

    The Boys & Girls Club of the Mississippi Valley painted the town red last week as it hosted its Blue Jeans for Blue Doors fundraiser at the downtown Moline club. With nearly 250 supporters, staff, board members, and club kids and their families gathered Thursday, May 15, at the Ontiveros Youth Center, the celebration raised an estimated $85,000 for the organization’s mission and programming. The Boys & Girls Club is located at 1122 5th Ave., across from Mercado on Fifth.
