Radio Alegria

The radio station was under the ownership of Jorge Humberto González Bravo and broadcasted at 2 kW during the day and 250 watts at night. The Díaz Alonso family managed the station, but tragedy struck when Sergio, the youngest of the three siblings, tragically passed away from an electric shock at the XEFP transmitter site the following year. In 1982, XEFP transitioned to 990 kHz and raised its power to 5,000 watts in 1985, eventually boosting it to 10 kW during the day and 1 kW at night by 1989. In January 2007, XEFP relocated to a newly constructed facility in Jalpa.
