Railway Magazine
The Railway Magazine is a monthly publication from the UK that caters to railway enthusiasts. It has been in circulation since July 1897, based in London. Notably, from 2007 to 2010, it achieved the highest circulation among railway magazines in the UK, with an average monthly sale of 34,715 copies in 2009. Previously published by IPC Media until October 2010, it is now released by Mortons Media Group Ltd. (located in Horncastle) starting November 2010. The magazine, which has the ISSN 0033-8923, also received the 'Magazine of the Year' award from IPC in 2007.

We are delighted to announce the release of The Tramways of Glasgow 1956 by Henry Conn – the latest addition to our acclaimed series celebrating the wonderful views of David and John Clarke. In 1956, a decision was made to reduce and eventually abandon the city’s entire tram system. With the exception of a few routes, services were cut back to the city boundary, ending long-standing inter-urban connections to Barrhead, Paisley, Renfrew, Milngavie, Coatbridge, and Airdrie.

Chesterfield will commemorate its role in the birth of the world’s railway system and connection to George Stephenson thanks to a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The Derbyshire town’s Holy Trinity Church has been awarded £240,600 to launch a project honouring George Stephenson, the ‘Father of Railways’, who lived the last 10 years of his life in Chesterfield and is buried in the church.

Chiltern Railways will run trains on a new line linking Oxford and Milton Keynes in the first phase of the East West Rail project, the Department for Transport has announced. The new line will initially link Oxford and Milton Keynes for the first time in nearly 60 years. The move is expected to support almost 100 new jobs at Chiltern Railways.

Drivers at Hull Trains are set to strike for eight weeks over the sacking of a colleague.
