TULARE COUNTY, Calif. - The California High-Speed Rail Authority has completed the Avenue 56 grade separation, making it the first high-speed rail structure completed in Tulare County. According to the release from CHSRA, the overpass was hit by atmospheric rivers in March 2023.

NEWARK, N.J. - Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has started construction on a $160 million transit access project at Newark Liberty International Airport. According to PANYNJ, the project will add a new point of entry at the airport that is served by AirTrain Newark, Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT. The project also reportedly includes extending a pedestrian bridge over the platforms to a “public access area off Frelinghuysen Avenue.” PANYNJ states this new entry point will open sometime in 2026.

(OLI) will launch ENS Sign Awareness Day on June 24th as a way to shine a light on the importance of Blue and White Emergency Notification System (ENS) signs at railroad crossings. The Blue and White signs posted at railroad crossings will include a phone number and location information in order to quickly report emergencies. CHICAGO - Metra begins rehabilitation to expand the 95th St./Chicago State University Station on its Electric Line. According to Metra, the $56 million project will improve the station’s accessibility, including the connection to the university. John Burns Construction of Westmont was awarded the project, as reported by RT&S in June 2024. It will replace the platform, stairs, and current headhouse as well as construct a new street-level entrance on 95th Street.

AVERY COUNTY, N.C. - Seven new spans are now in place for the Poplar Bridge, marking a milestone in CSX's efforts to restore the Blue Ridge Subdivision. In April, RT&S reported that CSX was currently making headway in its Blue Ridge Subdivision recovery efforts. Crews pulled track materials out of the Nolichucky River after Hurricane Helene destroyed the Poplar Bridge in fall of 2024. Since February 24, 2025, crews have been working to remove rail, ties, and other equipment.
