Reading Rainbow Live

Reading Rainbow Live

Established in 1983, Reading Rainbow became the most popular PBS program used in classrooms. One of Buffalo Toronto Public Media's proudest achievements in its over 60-year journey is the development and production of Reading Rainbow. This program was created to inspire a passion for reading and to foster strong connections between children and books. It earned its place as one of the longest-running children's literacy shows on PBS. Over its run, the series received more than 250 accolades, including an esteemed Peabody Award, nine Parents’ Choice Awards, and 26 Emmy Awards, with nine of those recognizing it as an Outstanding Children’s Series. Above all, Reading Rainbow was cherished by kids, parents, and teachers alike.
