Real Betis Balompié was established on September 12, 1907. Notably, it is one of the few teams in Spain that has a fully Spanish name, making it the oldest among them. Betis holds the distinction of being the first team from Andalusia to compete in the First Division, to win the modern version of the King’s Cup, and to claim the Spanish League title.
