Redbrick serves as the student publication for the University of Birmingham, offering content in both print and online formats, created by students for students. Originally launched in 1936 as Guild News, Redbrick has grown to feature eleven sections that explore various aspects of student life and has embraced digital journalism. The primary goal of Redbrick is to faithfully represent its audience while delivering thoughtful and well-crafted journalism. A committed group of volunteers works diligently to uphold this mission.

Trigger warning: mention of mental illness and death. Hamlet…a twisting tale of madness, murder and morality. The story takes place after the titular character’s father dies but not, as the old king will come to inform him through a series of hauntings, naturally. Faced with the knowledge that the new king (his uncle) murdered his father, Hamlet has to decide if and how he will take revenge, the consequences of which will have a cumulative effect beyond the limits of the royal family.

After releasing their debut album WOOF in September 2024, Fat Dog are back with their latest alternative single ‘Peace Song’. The single opens with prominent drums in the forefront and a crowd-like scream that almost mimics a chanting audience before we are introduced to the first verse. The song begins to crescendo into the catchy and quick chorus, sung in a higher octave, that continues on for the rest of the track.

The Divine Comedy is a work widely referenced within popular culture and, with such an intriguing title, how could it not be? A product of the 14th century, Dante Alighieri’s work is speculated to have taken over a decade to compose. The level of detail within the novel makes this easy to believe. The Divine Comedy is at its heart, a journey, both metaphysically and geographically. We follow Dante himself across the afterlife along with figures both real and mythical, such as Virgil.

lent out to hospitals, surgeries and hospices to be displayed for a period of time. In the charity’s new book The charity owns a collection of 3500 artworks by artists such as Andy Warhol and Maggi Hambling, and artworks housed by the charity are Lifting the Clouds, patients and medical staff provided testimonies about the ‘invaluable’ positive impact which hospital artwork had on their daily wellbeing within treatment and work, respectively.
